Social travel remains undeterred by recession according to social travel platform, Wipolo. The company proudly claims an exponential increase in both the number of new users and the number of travel destinations in recent months.
Wipolo opens up a whole new social dimension to trip organizing. The platform for web and mobile enables friends to exchange travel tales and photos, add recommendations and tips and give advice and advance warnings from their own travel experiences.

Wipolo led thorough integration with Facebook in 2011 to link Wipolo and FB accounts, including FB’s recent feature, Timeline. It’s the only mobile travel service available on the five top global mobile phone platforms (IPhone, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone 7, Bada). And with its growing network of partners, users have access to services such as simplified travel insurance and trip planning.
Wipolo aims to become the key reference in social and mobile travel services, to offer the service to one million registered users by the end of 2012. Currently available in English and French, it will soon be offered in Spanish and German.
The Wipolo platform is developed by French software editor Actimos, based in central Paris. The company was founded in October 2008 and employs 10 staff.
